This project started off with a general briefing of the client's desires for a new rain barrel. One of the most important aspects of this project was to guide the client into a certain path. The client had a lot of great but varying ideas about the functions of a new rain barrel, but this sometimes hindered the designing process.
Having said this, we were successful at guiding the client towards a viable end result with which he was also happy. The end result was a modular, sustainable, stackable and scalable rain barrel. Clever solutions were implemented such as utilizing one mould for both the lid as well as the foot stand. We also thought about integrating a slight slope into the foot stand to give the user the ability to choose whether or not he or she would like to put the entire rain barrel on a slight slope so its stability would increase.

After field research, making countless sketches as a group and making CAD models we were able to present some promising concepts to our client.
/What did I learn?
The most important skill I gained was guiding a client and distilling his desires from meetings and briefings.
